Floppy Drive poroblem

Floppy Drive poroblem

2006-05-17 by drew

I have 2 VFXsd keyboards.. One was having load problems... so I
decided to replace the floppy drive...

I had purchased the drive from R 66... several years ago.. & they said
it was a simple swap.. After changing the drive it did not work.. it
would not boot up as the keyboard was powered up nor read..

Anybody have any info on why... and how to make it work?

Drew

Hey Drew are you using HD discs? are you sure the ribbon cable is on correctly?

I had a similar problem with a floppy drive that I bought from #66.
I thought I bought the wrong drive or floppies.

I emailed them & they told me to make sure the ribbon connector had a
good connection.

I cleaned the contacts on my Sd & reconnected & everything is fine.

Remember VFX's were always finicky about disks, too much data for the
media.

Drew
Email me directly, I wonder if your power to the drive is good?
