Yeah, I almost got carried away - reading a Studio gear list instead of a sales list :)

Harry: Since You won't sell a SD-tingy, I must pass on your nice list. Just got a microX, and are looking for a SD, to add to the one I have.

Regarding the D-110, I would suggest getting a good software editor or the PG-10 hardware programmer. Even though it's an 80esh machine, It can actually make some weird stuff, by programming it "out of bounds", so to speak. Meaning extreme tuning of some waveforms. Using the Ringmod a lot....Layering sounds etc.... And print out a nice A2 or A3 size poster, with the algorithm diagrams and such ;)

I basically use it as a 6 to 8 voice thing, layering 2 to 5 different sounds, one being attack phase, one being sustain, maybe doubled with detune, and 2 more layers for "motions" in the sound. You could consider keeping one, if You haven't already tried the softediting and stuff.

Regarding Pictures, You could upload pictures from Your setup, showing VFXes in the Group/Gallry section :)

- Claus.

Thank you for the allowance on selling some of my gear. I am not a
dealer, but some might think that I own a store because of all the
gear in my studio :)

Ok, here is the list:

1. Ensoniq SQ2 32-Voice - excellent shape, but needs battery. I
tried to get the battery replaced a few years back and the guy took
the battery completely off and never put another back on. I know
that on Ebay and through Route66Studios.com, that the battery holders
(that are much better than what the factory put on them) are
available for little $$$. I will throw an SKB hard case for the
synth, and a RAM card to store stuff on (until the battery is
replaced). I have owned it since new and have taken very good care
of the unit since I purchased it. Since I used it primarily as a
controller, I never really missed the battery thing too much,
especially with the RAM car (which also has a new battery).

2. Alesis QS6 - I have owned this since new as well, and it too is in
great shape. I will include the manual, the softcase it came in and
the Manufacturer CD of programs that came with it.

3. E-Mu PK6 - I have owned this since new as well, and it too is in
great shape. I will include manual with this.

4. (2) Roland D-110 rack units. I bought these a few months back off
of Ebay, but have not been happy with them at all. I opened them up,
replaced the batteries and did a thorough cleaning inside and out. I
would like to sell them as a pair, but can go individual as well. I
have a PCM card for each one (Data Card #1 and Data Card #2), as well
as 1 manual.

If anyone is interested, send messages to my personal e-mail address
of ebbrecords@yahoo.com, and we can also discuss pricing. I went to
Prepal.com to get the current used pricing on this stuff, but you
know how that goes. Additionally, keep in mind that I take very good
care of the equipment, and baby this stuff as much as I can,
including opening up the cases and cleaning them on the inside as
well as outside.

Now, most might ask WHY I would want to get rid of gear? Well, I
still got 8 more boards at home, including (2) VFX-SD and an SQ1+,
that I will not part with. I also have a Roland XP-60, Yamaha TG-33
and (2) roland JV-880 units. I would like to keep these since they
are in my live rig. Plus, I just bought another bass guitar....The
gear obsession never seems to stop......

I will provide pictures of the equipment as well if desired. I can
direct you to pics of the gear in my studio for that....

I am also eyeing the new Alesis Fusion 6HD.......Need to sell some
before getting more.....

Well, that is all for now. Thank you for letting me post this stuff
on here....

I apologize for getting verbose. I actually thought that I pared it
down pretty good....Once again I apologize.

Yeah, I would not get rid of my SD synths, I have really come to rely
on them, especially the one I use for live stuff. There is still so
much those VFX-SD synths can do...

Regarding the items, especially the D-110 units, I was hoping that
they had moreof a 'unison' mode for full polyphony. My problem is
that whenever I use them with the SD sequencer, they reset themselves
and I have to program them all over again. When I use them at church,
they are fine, but I was really looking to layer with them and it has
been a hassle more than anything. So, I figured that I would clean
them up and unload them.

I have been building my collection for a long time, but it is time to
start selling some of them off to make room for other stuff.
Initially I wanted just a couple of VFX machines, and after 15 years,
I finally have them (but had to mass over 25 synths to try to get the
sound that the two alone have)....

Well, if anyone is interested in any of it, send me a message and
we'll talk.

Claus, I have not even listed the studio side of things, that may make
for drooling, for sure....

I also think my list would be a little too long :)

Ahhh, sorry, forgot youre problem-post some time ago reg. D-110. BTW. It is impossible for me to replicate on my D-110+VFX-SD - Yes I tried it, but can't see why your's have done the reset stuff so much :O

Well, getting late here in DK (3:42, night) so I'll better ;)

Nice weekend all :)

PS: Haven't forgot the VFX-chart....

Thank you for the additional info on the D-110 thing. I am glad that
it works on your end though. I am not sure why either. I have two of
the D-110 units and so I am pretty sure that it is not 'Roland'
specific. I also tried to delete all controller information from the
song(s) on the VFX, just to see if it was getting a wierd character,
and the problem still exhibited itself. I wish there was a unison
mode for the D-110, because I do like the electric piano sounds in
them and can make neat stuff.

I also ran into problems when using the E-Mu PK6 with one of the VFX
units MIDIed into it (where the E-mu was sending controller
information). the E-Mu has a beats mode where it has pre-programmed
beats and I liked to trigger the bass and drum sounds for additional
fullness for ideas. When the E-mu was turned on and I then turned on
the VFX, I got an system error and it would re-initialize itself,
until I unplugged the cable from the MIDI In port on the VFX. then,
it booted up just fine. It must have been the constant MIDI clock
message being sent from the E-mu.

That is fine, because the only two sounds I am really missing from the
VFX are the violin and cross stick sounds. I use my SQ1+ for the
violins and use the JV-880 synths for the cross stick. Everything
else is in the VFX units.

Well, again, thank you for letting me post, and I do apologize for
getting verbose on my gear list. I will try to post some pics
tomorrow with the VFX synths in action....

Harry
