When
you press Patch Select the HOLD setting is probably what you're looking for. You
can then press one or two of the patch select buttons before you hit a key. Just
hold the patch select button until you've actually hit the key. Then the VFX
will keep the setting until choose another setting the same way or you press a
patch select button without hitting a key which brings you back to 00. This way
you can change patch select while playing and still use both
hands.
The
settings LIVE, HOLD, or one of the fixed settings are performance settings and
not an element of the patch itself. So they can only be saved either with the
preset or within MULTI/Track.

[Ensoniq-VFX-SD] Patch select

If I understand the question, on my SD I bring up
the patch. Find the patch select button (one of the first nine group
to the right of display). Press once. "LIVE" will
appear. Pushing the "data entry" button (on left of display) will
scroll thru the patch variants. IF you wish to save this setting, save
as a patch, preset, or sequence. ; Hope this is what you were
after.

Subject: [Ensoniq-VFX-SD] Patch
select
I've had my VFXsd for two years, and I still havn't figured out how to
latch the patch select buttons. I mean if I want the both bottons down
patch, how do I set it so i can take my left hand off the buttons? I
feel kind of silly asking this because it's probably something really
simple, but I really don't know the answer.
