Hi-

I am intersted in making the eprom too, I have a VPC-101 cartridge, please 
let us know if you find a source for the 28C256 EEPROM chip.

I used an Atmel 28C25615PC 150nS (specify 150nS) which I purchased from 
mouser.com.

It worked for me.
