The KPC number is the keybords version number. It's located under the keyboard in it's own EPROM together with (I think it is) a 8032-something CPU. Remember, the keyboard is both contact-less & POLY aftertouch, which at the time of the VFX probably demanded it's own computer-board.


I don't think the KPC and the OS needs to follow each other ie. a version 3 OS could use Your keyboard too. Please correct if I'm wrong ;)

My ROM=4.20....I presume that is the OS version that is loaded into

EEPROM for the SD-1...making it up-to-date....but what is the KPC number?
