ROM vs. RAM cartridges

ROM vs. RAM cartridges

2009-06-01 by neurokrash

Greetings,

In looking for information about the VFX cartridges, I'm wondering if the ROM versions contain waveform data, or if this is just patch data. It looks like some of the ROM cartridges are still available for sale, although I have no idea which ones might be useful to me; I have two carts at the moment.

Can the useful patches from ROM cartridges be transferred to a RAM cartridge? My cartridge slot is a bit flaky, so it would be ideal if I could eventually put all the sounds I like on one cart.

Thanks

Patch Data Only.
Yes...you can place any ROM or sysex or floppy (SD) patch into a RAM cartridge.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
