VFX-SD won't retain sequencer OS when the power is turned off

Hi. Don't know if anyone has had this problem. I bought a used VFX-SD and then bought the upgrade eproms and 2.10 sequencer OS disk. I installed the eprom upgrade correctly and put in a new backup battery and I can load the sequencer ok and it works correctly. When I turn off the power though it loses the sequencer and it has to be re-loaded every time I turn the machine on. Weird thing is I know the backup battery circuit is working correctly because it saves all the other system setup, internal sounds and stuff when I turn it off and only loses the sequencer OS. Anyone else ever seen this problem? I contacted the guy from Route 66 studios that I bought the upgrade eproms from and he responded quickly and has tried to help but has not seen this problem. There are two SRAM memory chips and maybe one of them is dedicated to the sequencer OS and is not receiving backup power correctly. I think I checked backup voltage on both of the SRAM chips though and they both were ok. Weird. Thanks.
