VFX SDII battery

VFX SDII battery

2002-01-02 by paostbyaol

I bought this keyboard in about 1993 or so. I finally looked at the
battery because it STILL reads 141 in the diagnostics
(PRESETS+COMPARE). Other postings have mentioned a CR2032 lithium
battery, which is flat and about the size of a US quarter coin.

The battery in my keyboard is, what I believe to be, a CR2. It looks
more like a capacitor. Visual comparison at a Radio Shack led me to
this part number. Anyone have this same experience?

Since the batteries are difficult to change, I intend to solder in a
AA battery holder. It puts 2 AA's in series for 3 volts. Now, when I
change batteries, I don't need to shut off power to the VFX. I can
also change them once a week if I so desire. 3 volts is 3 volts, but
any reason why this wouldn't work?

Lithiums last for 3-5years
If your troubling with a new battery holder, make it a lithium holder type

The Lithium is the way to go, if you really want the option of a clip (so you
can replace next time yourself) we have a solder in clip setup that uses the
BR 2/3a Lithium factory battery at Route 66 Studios, it's not done yet but I
will have it posted on the site soon.
