VFX SDII battery

I bought this keyboard in about 1993 or so. I finally looked at the battery because it STILL reads 141 in the diagnostics (PRESETS+COMPARE). Other postings have mentioned a CR2032 lithium battery, which is flat and about the size of a US quarter coin. The battery in my keyboard is, what I believe to be, a CR2. It looks more like a capacitor. Visual comparison at a Radio Shack led me to this part number. Anyone have this same experience? Since the batteries are difficult to change, I intend to solder in a AA battery holder. It puts 2 AA's in series for 3 volts. Now, when I change batteries, I don't need to shut off power to the VFX. I can also change them once a week if I so desire. 3 volts is 3 volts, but any reason why this wouldn't work?
