Hello. I have a VFX with a strange problem : the majority of patches makes a strange digital noise when i play them. I mean when i press the keys, i hear the patch sound, but when i release the key, i hear the noise, like pops, cracks, digital stuff. Some patches (like 5 of them) seem not to be altered, and they sound good. Any ideeas ? Maybe a bad chip used for some effect ?

Hi, there was a thread here some time ago titled "digital crapulence", where the following was mentioned by Bill Tomlinson: " hi there is a screwdriver trimpot on the main board toward the right end about middle verticaly. this is the DA bias. try adjusting it SLIGHTLY and see if you can reduce the grunge in the sustain tail. I replaced mine with a 10-turn trimmer to get finer adjustment. " This might help. If it doesn't, you might also want to have a look at some of the other messages in that thread. Hi, I have pressed and shaked a little bit the chips inside, and now seems to be ok. Although after some time (half hour or more) the digital noise seems to come back. After more readings, I believe there is some bad contact between sound chip and motherboard. I haven't try to modify the DA bias yet (mainly because of lack of time)and the grunge in the sustain tail is not so disturbing (yet).
