I've done this numerous times.
Some SD1 sounds will load fine into a VFXsdII, some will give strange
results and some will cause wierd errors. Same goes for the sequences. As
far as sounds, if the waves don't match up, the VFX will play the wave that
is in the memory location specified, even if it is the wrong one. This can
lead to some really bizarre and LOUD noises coming from the VFX. However,
with the exception of your speakers and your ears, you shouldn't be able to
hurt anything by loading the SD1 sounds and sequences.

Subject: [Ensoniq-VFX-SD] SD1 sounds on a VFX-SDii???
I recently was able to purchase a VFX-SDii and have old disks from
both the VFX-SDii and an SD1 unit that I used to own many years ago.
The disks from the VFX unit are working fine and I was about to try
loading some sounds and sequences from the SD1 disk and I got
nervous. Would it be safe to load some of the sounds from the SD1
disks onto my unit? What about the sequences?
I understand that the SD1 has some new waves over the VFX unit...
would the sounds based on those just not work? Maybe they would play
based on some other wave in the VFX lib?
Anyone else try this?
Thanks in advance!
