Patches and discussion for Ensoniq VFX family

Hi everyone !

I am trying to hook up my old SD-1 with my PC running Sonar 2. The 
basic (MIDI) stuff is working well, but I want to be able to save 
sysex data with my sequences so that the setup of the SD-1 is 
automatically correct for a given song.

Sonar can do this using the sysex banks. But I have two problems:

1) (minor) I can't get Sonar to trigger the sysex transfer from
   the SD-1 to the PC; I can only do it manually
2) (major) the SD-1 doesn't want to listen to sysex messages at
   all. Nothing happens whether I send a program, a bank or anything.
   The SYS-EX system parameter on the SD-1 is ON, and the base-
   channel was 1 while sending and is 1 during recieving.

Part of the problem (the first) is probably due to the fact that
I couldn't find a SD-1 specific Instrument-Definition-File for 
Sonar. So I use the VFXsd definition file.

But for the second problem I don't know.

Any clues ?

Also, I really would like to find the SD-1 MIDI Specification. I did 
a search for it on the Web but couldn't find anything. Any help 
appreciated.
