VFX Battery

VFX Battery

2014-02-04 by musicwithharry

So I have, among other Ensoniq keyboards, a VFX and VFX-SD.

When I perform the analog tests there is a deal displaying the battery voltage. it is in whole numbers and both units are displaying around 137 to 139 there.

I will assume that this means that the voltage left in the battery is 1.37 and 1.39 volts. Is that correct in my assumption?

The VFX-SD has the tumbler style battery (I believe the original style battery) and the VFX has a CR2032 battery in it. Was this common? I think that it was not and that this VFX has been upgraded at some time. It has the latest OS and KPC versions as well. The VFX 2032 battery is attached to the main board, just the same as the SQ1/2/r series. These are very easy to replace.

Do the CR2032 batteries have the same life once installed in the VFX as the tumbler batteries did?

How much life do you suppose is left in the batteries with the voltages listed above? is it something I should fix in the next couple of months or is this something that I could go a year without doing?

Every attempt at installing the battery holder in my Ensoniq Sq series did not work, so I ended up going to a Batteries Plus and having put the leads on the CR2032 and simply putting it back on the board like before. I am not too worried about this but having the holder would be much easier :)

Grace,
Harry

Hello,

See the folder, the 3 photos.

This may perhaps help you.

Best regards.
