Yes, you can actually check such things yourself- if you look at the full header, you can see that it is being sent by a random open email server, not me. There's some drive-by malware that snags your gmail contact list, name, etc. Its also a one-time thing because names that have been added to my contact list since the event happened have not received the email. Google has it listed as a ‘known issue’ since 2012. Most people’s server spam filters catch it and delete it because even though it looks like it is being sent by me, the actual full header shows otherwise. the only reason it goes to Yahoo Groups is because the groups themselves are set up to allow email to come and go from an address other than where it says it is coming from because, as far as I know, it is or was something inherent to how the groups work and can’t be turned off.
