Just bought the synthesizer

Just bought the synthesizer

2003-07-03 by Kevin

Hi. I just bought the Ensoniq VFX-SD synthsizer. I got it used
(obviously) with nothing but the keyboard itself. No OS disk, no
sound disks... nothing. I can't run the sequencer at all, and I was
wondering if my only choice was to buy the OS disk off the internet.
I've found the OS files for free download, but I can't put them on a
disk and load them into the keyboard that way. Am I just putting
these files on the disk wrong, or do I have to use a MIDI-in cable
from my pc to the synth? I figured you could load sounds into the
keyboard from the pc, but I wasn't sure about the OS itself.
Hopefully I make sense here... I'm kinda new to synthesizer
ownership. Especially one so old and complex. Anyway, thanks for
reading, and please help.

Kevin,

You'll find the "imagefile-VFX-sequencer-OS" and the
EDE program to put this imagefile on the
VFX-formatted-floppy, plus somme goodies at :
http://neopatch.hypermart.net/tools.htm

Also check out the "VFX yahoo group", in the file
section, there are interesting patches down there too.

Fred
