Experience and step-by-step clear explanations on soldering VFX internal boards

Hi VFX'ers ! During my last live gig, this tricky calibration problem showed up... I fixed it *dirtyly* as usual, by pressing all keys down with my left- forearm. Now I want to fix the damn problem for good ! So I got the information on soldering the boards. Got the info from the EPS/Chicken/Rub/*something* site too. I already opened up the beast a few time so I'm ready to do whatever it takes to clear out this problem. I would like to have experience of members on this list who did this soldering by themsleves (successfully, I mean). I'm interested in clear step-by-step explanations. Digital photos are welcome ! Also where and what to take great care of... Another thing: sometimes, my VFX just hangs, with a very loud *klang* sound. I hope that this problem is also linked to the calibration one ! If not, what is the work-around ? TIA, Fred
