A metal shear will work fine.  I have used the run of the mill paper 
cutters -- flat 16x16 inch platform with a slightly curved blade on 
right side.  However, the more robust variety would probably work better.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
