Homebrew PCBs

A few days ago someone posted that you could use candy apple green 
paint to paint a circuit board to look good.  Instantly I thought, 
wow, that would be about the right color.

Then I got to thinking, how the hell do you paint a circuit board?  Do 
you have to mask off all of the solder pads one-by-one?
