The 600 DPI for the 6L is supposed to have ultrafine toner in the HP cartridge, which is fine for printing, gives sharp edges and high resolution. Little doubt the generics have lower res toner, probably still passable for 600 DPI but thicker, and easier transfers. Likely a little lower melting point than the HP toner too.. Alan
