I've mailed my chemicals shop 'bout the prices for silver chloride and silver nitrate and they put quite the dampener on the idea anyway. While it is probably very sparingly used it is still not cheap. Also, the layer is probably very, very thin. I guess it would be more economical if one would use "junk" silver and convert it into silver chloride with electrodes or to silver nitrate with acid. I guess plumbing solder is really the most economical way. ST
