I don't think many people would go for that. I would expect most of us to prefer permanent, one-time payment solutions. Also, the guys making my PCB software said when asked why the programm simply terminates after a while if you are over the pin limit (this is indicated) that it is to prevent hacking. If you add a message "you are over it" it is easy to spot and hack the programm there. Instead they check in several places with a short piece of code. So it may be difficult to prevent hacking of some licensing schemes.
