Well, you can't exactly call this type of solder covered thing a solder  
joint.
I mean the reliability could be problematic.

Probably not going to matter for prototypes and homebrew stuff, but i  
wouldn't want to put it in anything important.
Those eyelets tend to be a reliability issue as well and they have more  
contact area.
