Homebrew PCBs

Few years ago I bought an old calcomp model 83(m83)

I fiddled with it and it did a self test.

well here I am five years or so later and I finally deiced to try it
again, but cant remember what button combination I used to get a self
test out of it.

It says rs232 on th back with dip switches for baud rate etc.

Does anyone have one of thse still, I'm wondering what type of serial
cable to use on it first, and more importantly, what to use as a
driver with XP.
