That's an interesting idea... You can only focus UV light just as much as you can focus visible light, but there are cheap lasers that emit light in the UV range. I believe the lasers used in DVD players emit light in the UV range, but don't quote me on that. Then, in making a CNC type machine (yes I belong to the cnc groups as well) use this method to simply draw the tracks onto the board directly.
