My understanding is they just want your cash.
Some rubbing with a piece of foam rubber and the white residue goes away,  
but it is not a problem unless you want to make component legend.
The etchant does not mind the looks.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
