Looking for some advice from laser printer people here, since it looks like so many people use the toner transfer, which I would like to give a try. I am using a HP Laserjet 6l found in the attic, dusty has been sitting. I purchased a remanufactured toner cartridge for it (because I am cheap). So now the print comes out unsatisfactory. For example, if I print a black and white checkerboard on an 8.5 x 11 sheet, I see waves in the lines that vary contrast. Also getting what looks like some type of alley down the center where some small roller hits the paper and causes a variance. So I was wondering if anyone knows that if laserjet 6L printers are just junk - and to not bother trying to use this for anything other then printing letters, or I should go head and replace the fuser film, or possibly a NEW toner cartridge will solve the issues?
