They etch thin copper, then plate it back up afterwards. That's a tricky process to do at home, I suspect. However, by the time you need 4/4 or whatever, surely you're also calling for tiny, plated-through vias and multi layers? There comes a point when you just pay someone. I can't see me ever doing finer than 6/6 at home. Steve
