Homebrew PCBs

I was just going to start with ferric chloride but after some more 
reading I found I can make my own etchant by mixing muriatic acid with 
hydrogen peroxide. Has anybody tried this or currently use this method 
and if so, how good does it work? I have a $10 coupon if I spend $25 at 
Lowes and can use it wisely on acetone and muriatic acid while I am there :)
