Fry's has the Samsung ML-2510 on sale for $60 after rebate today. Does
anyone have any particular opinions about this printer's suitability for
doing toner transfer etching? At that price, I sure am tempted...

                   I am relatively new here to. There is one member here by 
the name "Mark" that has successfully moded that printer (ML-2510). 
Hopefully he will respond to you.

He had some issues with repeatability and ended up resolving this issue with 
an external transfer HV supply. He did not use the printer for fusing so 
poorer results were just wiped off and repeated before he installed the 
external transfer HV supply.

I think he was concerned about the overall safety of the end result as most 
of the printer had to be stripped to make the paper path (PCB) straight. He 
has some pictures in the files section. Last I heard he was turning towards 
moding an ink jet printer.

There is another member that is selling thin PCB laminate and a gel that can 
pass through a "normal" laser printer. By "normal", I think the paper (PCB) 
path has to be reasonably straight. I will go find the web site ... Can't 
find it. Hopefully he will respond.

There have been members here that get very good results with modified ink 
jet printers so perhaps you can consider that to.
