Hi All, I don't know if this has been covered before but in using the chemicals Muriatic Acid (hydrochloric acid) and Hydrogen Peroxide to etch circuit boards with - if someone accidentally spilled some acetone into the etchant mix they could inadvertently produce a high explosive called Acetone Peroxide. Some people use Acetone to clean the copper boards with prior to etching so it is possible the chemicals could be accidentally mixed together. I believe the reaction produces white crystals that are the highly unstable explosive Acetone Peroxide. There is no such danger when using ferric chloride. Just a reminder to be careful when using these chemicals. Todd R [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
