Re: [Homebrew_PCBs] Re: DLP files - what format?

Hi Jim,

I guess you could remove the platform and cut it on a table saw, but
you would have to do quite a bit more disassembling. I thought it was
going to be much harder to cut the platform than it really was with
the dremel, but it might indeed be faster to take the platform out vs
masking and cleaning up after the cut. Since I don't have a table
saw, I did it my way. Your way would be much neater and more
professional looking - go for it!

With regard to the sensors, you could probably lower the center of
the platform and have the mpfs and the pis work, but you would need
to add the exit sensor somewhere since it is on the back of the fuser
and cannot be used in this position. In fact the mpfs and the pis
could be mounted on the front of the printer and work via notches in
the carrier, although I would be careful about notches hanging up on things.

I think you should bite the bullet and use the mcu. The Atmel Studio4
is free, the ATAVRISP2 in circuit programmer is $35 from Digikey, and
you're all set.

I can send you a programmed board, though it will not be able to do
ds boards since I'm still working on that. If you want one, contact
me off list with your address - it should be about $5 USD which you
can pay via Paypal or mo or check, whichever is easier for you.

Mark
