I use the 0.4/0.6, 0.6/0.8 and 0.8/1.0mm ones, but my preferred ones (for my high density SMD PCBs) are the 0.4/0.6mm rivets which are used with outer pad diameter vias of 1.01mm (40mils) Please take care that those 0.4/0.6 rivets are really small and they are not so easy to handle, even with excellent tweezers like Lindstrom ones! I do not use the rivet press: it is outrageously expensive! I was thinking to create a small riveting press using broken tungsten carbide drills grinded with diamond wheels to emulate Bungard's ones: see video and press bits on Bungard's web page: <http://www.bungard.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48%3Adurchkontaktierungspresse&catid=3%3Abungard-produkte&Itemid=65&lang=english> <http://www.bungard.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=28%3Adurchkontaktier-nieten&catid=3%3Abungard-produkte&Itemid=79&lang=english> . ciao _ Elio.
