Hi All I use a slightly larger eyelet - Tucker L762 - to make through hole connections that have sufficient clearance in the centre hole for a component lead. I use centre punches to expand both ends without flattening them completely down onto the PCB surface. This makes a good solder joint to the PCB and the component lead.
