It is peculiar stuff in that if you stretch it it grows in diameter and if you squash it, when using it as a gasket, it expands to fill all the voids. Clamped between the band and the transfer sheet it would ensure even pressure distribution. See: <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLDbSWSm5i8> for an explanation. I can't remember who made it but it was reasonably priced. An alternative would be to use a rubber gasket material. Malcolm
