If you don't have a front panel, then the only setting options are in the driver. HP's latest driver is a unified "works well for none, ignores capabilities for all" type of driver. I have a laser printer, HP 2100, which has a useful driver that works on XP (and is old, and does 1200 DPI and has contrast control). The windows 7 or 8 driver limits me to 600 DPI and has no contrast control IIRC. Harvey > >js
