The homemade PCB router Hightechsystems1 made is impressive. I have 3 questions: 1) Are those motors DC gear motors or stepper motors? They look like DC Gear motors. 2) Did you have to make any gears for this device? 3) As far as I can see, each axis uses a long worm gear in between two cylinder beams that keep the drill, etc...moving in a linear direction (as opposed to rotating with the motor shaft). But I see what looks like a very low thread on the worm gear cylinder in the center...that makes me think that there is a different variety of worm gear techniques/structures. Can somebody describe the gear structure for the long worm cylinder-movable part? I was glad to see https://sdp-si.com/ now has an online catalog with prices for gears, that is awesome. thanks Ted -- Ted Huntington Programmer Analyst I Main Library University of California, Irvine PO Box 19557 Irvine, CA 92623-9557 emesgs: thunting@... web page: http://business.lib.uci.edu/webpages/ted.htm 8:00a-12:00p Business Office (949) 824-8926 1:00p-5:00p Multimedia Resource Center (949) 824-1674 "Stop violence, teach science."
