Re: [Homebrew_PCBs] Thinking of moving the group to Groups.io

2018-02-02 by Dave Daniel

Steve,

I am a member of a bunch of groups, some of which have moved from Yahoo
to groups.io with no problems. The groups.io web GUI is certainly much,
much easier to use than the Yahoo NEO interface.

I have for several years now thought that Yahoo's insensitivity to
complaints about the NEO interface is indicative of larger problems
there. Using a facility that is dedicated to hosting forums makes a lot
of sense to me. Continuing to use Yahoo does not.

The one issue with moving to groups.io is the cost of storage. To my
knowledge, it is not free of cost. However, I believe that it is
relatively inexpensive, particularly is it was covered by a bunch of
forum members contributed $1/bunch each.

I certainly would support such a move.
