This is worth repeating- please use browser-friendly JPG, GIF, or PNG for uploading bitmapped pictures, schematics, etc. Formats like TIF and BMP result in really huge file sizes for the same image size, and cannot be viewed directly in the browser (not without a plug-in, anyway).
