Long ago, I've done drill-first with just the basic Radio Shack PCB kit, it works just fine. Simply print out your pattern on a piece of paper and tape it to the board, then use a sharp center punch to mark the hole locations in the copper through the paper. Now remove the paper, drill the holes, clean off any burrs, and use your resist pen to copy the printed pattern to the board. Same thing could be done with TT, using your drilled holes to align the pattern before attaching it for transfer. A.J.
