Dunno about UK, but most stuff on the store shelves here is marked either "NT WT" (Net Weight), or "FL OZ" (fluid ounces), so it's pretty obvious what they're talking about. What bugs me is stuff that's sold by weight but used by volume, or vice versa. This seems to be typical in cooking.
