No. I am a Numpty! 

Comes of trying to do arithmatic in the head whilst being spoken to by
wife and realising I was about to be late for an appointment!

A pound and a quarter is 16*1.25 = 20 oz AV
 so as you rightly say 1 floz of water weighs 1oz.
