Newbie to PCB's will this do as the UV light source?

2005-12-18 by Gary

Hi,

I am going to make my own PCB's, but I am trying to keep the cost
down, I require a UV light source for developing PCB,s

I have found this product and it looks ideal and seems very powerful!

I am sure on reading about, build your own UV developer box, someone
used a "suntan lamp",

I would like your opinion as to wether this unit will be suitable?

I've heard of someone using something like that which he got his much
cheaper in a charity shop. I built my own with a box made from MDF and some
wood, a sheet of glass and a couple of UV tubes. Cost me about \ufffd20.

As long as it's not a deliberate deception with normal flouro tubes,
it looks like it uses blacklight tubes and should work.

Companies like Farnell and RS have them in the UK. I am using Sylvania
Blacklight 350 8W tubes I bought from a company called Service Trading in
West London.

Hello, Group. I have developed a set of brushes for paintshop, and Photoshop that are available for designing your circuit boards with. With one click you can have chip pads, transistor pads, and all of your circles, and interface fingers on one disk. If anyone is interested in these, please contact me off list for more info.

Thanks!

Kim

You can use white fluoros with BL number (black-light), or dark
purple ones (black-blight blue). You can get them as compact flourescents too.
Some hardware shops have them.
