Temp Controller

2006-08-24 by Andrew

Offer is still open for me to make a PCB to fit
your box dimensions. Solder on an ATMEL and
a themrocuple sensor. DO all the programming
and ship it off to you for free.

Will even include an ATMEL programmer so you
can flash any updates to the software you want
me to write.

I can even put in a 8x2 line LCD if that will
fit in your box (the 8x2 line is a standard
size I carry for one of my comercial projects)

You just need to make up the specs.

Re: [Homebrew_PCBs] Re: How not to control ovens
- was - The list is huge! Really huge!

Ok, so i went and bought that elektor article. Took
ages to sign up with that nonsense but in the end
i got the pdf. Anyway, there is a lot less
documentation than i would have hoped for. Not even
a flowchart for the software. I knew why i don't read
the elektor magazine.....

<SNIP>

Anyway, i'll have to think about this. I'm not feeling
well today and i just purchased an article that is of
less quality than many free projects on the web...
This seems way too complicated, i had hoped i could
use the thing more or less as-is but i'd have to
change so much.... damn it this should be a dead easy
problem to solve and it is getting more and more
annoying...

You are crazy and i will not take advantage of you in that way ;-)

I might be interested in one of your displays, i searched and could not
find smaller ones than 16 character across.
How wide is the 8x2 one?

I am set up to programm atmels here, i'm just not very good with software
and it is a task i hate. However it would not be a problem to use software
someone else made and on a good day i might even be able to make small
changes.

How would you go about this? Have you read the elektor article? Would you
trash the eeprom? What atmel would you use? I assume you'd use the Maxim
TC interface IC? What control method would you use?

If you would not need the eeprom and used an atmel i can get that would
not be such a bad option.
The PCB does not worry me, that is quickly done.

I will see what that industrial controller does...

That's 17 or 20 eur without VAT, more for the display than the whole oven
cost me.

Thank you, but the display problem is solved.

  Poor Stef :)

You are complaining on prices of components that Guja is pointing
  you to.

Your monthly income much rxceedes Guja's and mine together for at
least 2 times, but we're nos squeeking and squeeling on prices for
the components that we have to obtain.

Learn to use Photo process and stop throwing money on junk EPSON's,
  cheap printheads, ink,...
