OT - Kind of: Articles for News Group

OT - Kind of: Articles for News Group

2008-02-07 by Jawa Lunk

Greetings all.

I am working on a website that brings builders, programmers, designers,
electronics wizards and such all together in one place to network with
each other to off help to others, and get help from other in your
projects.

I have been working on this project for the last couple months and we
are currently 25% done.

One are that we have completed is our News server.

It is going to have all of the latest news for different areas of
interest, such as robotics, electronics, etc...

What I need is people who are interested in writing articles.

There is A LOT of talented and educated people in this forum.

I would love to have a few authors from the group here write articles
about the latest trends and news in the PCB world to inform others about
the progress which is being made.

This news will be featured on my website The-Sandcrawler.com as well as
linked from the Official Wall-E Builder's Group.

I have a few authors already, but the more I get from differing fields,
the more interesting and informative the news will be.

This news is NOT littered with ads and stuff...it's simply News.

So if you are interested (serious inquiries only please) please email me
off board.

I have a class to teach tonight, but WILL contact you about this.

Thanks!!

I would love engineering issues and news, along with the latest on any
tech topic including Wall-E.

But if you have a SPECIFIC topic you would like to author, then you
would get it.

The hard part is because I am dealing with many different copyrights,
there is no compensation for the articles.

But because I want people to read the articles on the site, I am not
going to fill it up with ads and junk like most people do.

I just received an application from someone interested in the PR
position, he will iron most of the copyrighted material out.

I say position loosely, because no one can make money off of LFL, Pixar
or Disney without consent from their intellectual property.

But we can write articles all day about the latest news on them and
other science, tech, engineering, electronics, etc..

See, the concept behind The-Sandcrawler.com is that it is a one-stop
builders group.

I have friends from about 8 different groups who could use each others
expertise, yet they will never meet because they are members at
different groups.

So instead of being the middle man all the time. I wanted to develop a
central point for all builders where you can pick each others brains for
your own personal project.

You will be able to use the search, say if you need a PCB builder, or if
you have a programming question you can search for a programmer. Or if
you need something built, and you do not have the facilities, you can
search out someone who has the machine you need and work something out.

I am just finishing up the community aspect of the group, and we are
going into phase 2 where I will be developing the builders aspect.

In the community, you have a personal profile, can upload pics, you have
your own blog, you can send messages, internal emails and bulletins,
etc...

In the builders part, you will have your projects on your page for
others to view, be able to specify your skills and level of skill so
others may search you out for assistance, and you can search them, and
more to come...

So I really need articles from writers on all sorts of topics technical
that builders would want to read about. New tools, latest computer
developments, the newest design software, etc.. Stuff the builders need
to read and know about.

Thanks for asking, if anyone has any questions, feel free to email me
off board;

Why all the spam these days? ;-)

It was an answer to a question.

And it wasn't really spam, I am looking for someone to write articles
about what is going on here and the latest news about PCBs.

I hardly consider that spam.

If no one is interested in sharing what's going on here with other
groups, that's fine, I'll stop sharing then.

p.s.

I did say for people to contact me off board and gave my personal email
address, something spammers do not do.

I was not completely serious.
I do not see the question to which you answered, and it looked a bit
suspect, is all.

The question that was asked about the project was sent as a forward, so
when I replied I went to the bottom and hit reply via webpost without
realizing it was a forward, not a posted question.

Like I said, I asked to keep the responses off board, I was just
offering an opportunity for this community to share the projects and
connect with other communities.

Just free exposure for this group.

I have seen real innovations and know that there are others in other
groups I belong to that could benefit from this information, thats all.

Like I stated previously, my goal was to connect groups who could
mutually benefit each other in their efforts.

nothing more.

Spam usually involves compensation, and believe me, I am not making any
money from my projects...unfortunately :)

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
