PCB Design service and custom enclosures?

PCB Design service and custom enclosures?

2003-06-26 by ghidera2000

I'm attempting to create a fairly sensitive sensor system and I'm
getting cold feet about the PCB design. I've come up with a few
different PCB layouts keeping in mind decoupling digital chips,
trace lengths, yadda yadda yadda, to keep down noise and noise
sensitivity. Thing is, I don't really know if what I'm doing is any
good.

Does anyone know of a design company that can take a schematic and
do a good double sided though-hole PCB layout from it? Preferrably
one that'll email me and say "Are you sure you really want to do X,
or hey, you forgot Y...

Enclosures also seem pretty hokey - is there a company that will
make small runs of enclosures, say 10 or so at a time?

Yes, this may well end up a commercial product so I'm not expecting
to see "free" and bargain hunter specials.

Crownhill offers those services, including enclosures. Click on
"Catalogue" and "Project Design":

http://www.crownhill.uk.com/

I have not used their services in this regard, however I did buy
Proton+ (PIC Basic compiler) from them and have been very pleased with
their customer service (and pleased with the compiler).

They are in the UK, but shipping to the USA was quick and they ship
all over the world.

I emailed them about my project. Cool one-stop-shopping site :D The
design services would be great but The shipping and customs fees for
enclosures would probably make it economically unsound (I'm in
Canada).

PCB123 has also started offering design services and they have an
instant quote form (though its an instant estimate really). They
don't make enclosures though.
