pcbhobbyist.com no longer supplying photoresist

2009-02-02 by javaguy11111

Since I have had so many people in this group order photoresist from
me, I wanted to let you know that I am longer supplying photoresist at
the pcbhobbyist.com website.

There unfortunately has not been enough demand to justify
the continued expense.

Sorry, but no longer supplying means no longer supplying. It is not a
marketing ploy to get people to buy.

My current supply is about a year old and I do not want to sell people
resist that may not perform properly. Since demand is too low, I do
not want to invest in fresh resist.

I have seen references to other companies that are now supplying
smaller quantities in other posts. Search the group and you should
find them.

Here's an alternative: http://www.capefearpress.com/puretchpcb.html
I like this stuff, Puretch works extremely well. Only $45 for a 24
3/4"x 10' roll.

For those who prefer to silkscreen, there's StencilPro Hires:

I've got some stuff and it works just like when I bought it over 8 years
ago.

I was told by my photoresist supplier that after several years it can
start to flow out the ends of the roll and fuse together. You can simply
trim the roll 5mm or so and its back to normal again. Keep it in the
refrigerator and it should last MUCH longer than the 1 or 2 year shelf
life recommended by manufactures. Companies often set shelf lives on
products just to avoid possible liabilities and increase sales.
