Anyone using Mentor PADS?

Anyone using Mentor PADS?

2009-03-25 by Steve Greenfield

Anyone here using Mentor PADS? Just saw a job opening asking for experience using it, wondering if it would be worthwhile for me to download the eval version and try it out.

I'm a Seattle Robotics Society member. Richard Greenway who hosts the
SRS Monday Night Chat uses it from what I remember. He is almost
always on there. http://www.seattlerobotics.org/contact.php#Monday
He's also an endlessly knowledgeable person about electronics.

I've been using PADS since way before Mentor bought it (also did
quite a few small homebrew designs with free eval versions). I can't
give you any career advice, but from a technical standpoint...
It has it's idiosyncrasies like any cad pcb program. PADS certainly
has all the power necessary to get the job done, but there is a bit of
a learning curve. You'd have to invest quite some time to become truly
proficient (true of most complex things).
