Homebrew PCBs

If someone is going to do an extraction, TSV or CSV would be better as an
easily importable file to any program.

As a new member to this group I am still wondering how to handle the huge
archive of old postings to this group. Whether there is a way of
downloading the entire achive (at work where I have fast access instead of
dialup on a 56k modem) or whether to spend many hours running up my 'phone
bill reading and searching through them on line.

What are TSV and CSV?

There's a program called PersonalGroupware that can download all
messages, files, etc. or only selected by date, thread, or poster.

He's got it off his website right now for updating. He's just offered
to send me a beta version to test. I'll let you know.

To Dave M., even Microsoft Access must be able to export in a common
database format. The receiver would still have to set up their
database program properly to be able to search and view by various
things like thread, date, and poster.

Just don't upload it to the list files! Kinda defeats the purpose.

.tsv and .csv. Tab separated variable and comma separated variable. About
the most basic file format you can get for data. The information from the
fields or cells is output to a file with a Tab character or comma used to
separate the data. Pretty much any program can understand it; you can even
load it into Word, which can be useful at times though you need to turn on
the feature that allows you to "see" the Tab characters for best results.

If you do "save as" from something like Excell you'll see them as
available file types in the list.

.tsv is probaly better as commas can occur naturally in data/text.

i wouldn't consider csv/tsv any good for storing mailgroup posts...
i use it for ordering item lists, storing measured values etc. but i don't 
think a mailgroup text
will fit well into cells....

i guess it is like writing a book in ms excel (or starcalc or......)
