drill press for PCB

drill press for PCB

2010-12-29 by sailingto

Hello all, a few months ago there was a thread about a small diamond blade saw from a company specializing in gemstone cutting/polishing. This company also had a drill press that was recommended for PCB drilling - does anyone remember this company?

Any idea how it compares to the one at this link?

http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/prodinfo.asp?number=G17382

I've been using a drill press with 3,000 rpm max, and would like to have more rpm for carbide bits.

Thank you for any help,

Well, this is the Co / Drill.

Don't own either, but pics / specs sure look very similar.

I've had very good results using a Dremel 220 drill press for PCBs. I also
have one of those mini chuck adapters so I can use normal drill bits. It
works well while taking up minimal space on my desk, and I haven't broken
any bits yet.

My suggestion would be for the Proxxon but if you decided to go with the gemstone, ebay has it for $90 (including shipping).

That's just the drill stand. This is their drill press
http://www.proxxontools.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=61

<http://www.proxxontools.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=61>I've seen a
bunch of discussions online about cnc milling pcbs and people love the
proxxon tools for their very small runout and high reliability.

Some people like the dremel stuff and some people hate it.

Thanks for the links and info - The Paxsion has a good rep, but darn expensive! and really looks a LOT like the Goldmine press.

For better or worse, I ordered the ebay for $90.49 shipped.
