RE: [Homebrew_PCBs] slikscreen - on a plotter

RE: [Homebrew_PCBs] slikscreen - on a plotter

I've always wanted to do silkscreen plotting with my HP plotter. However, I
don't know where to get an ink that will withstand the heat of soldering.
Anybody have any ideas?

Could an HP plotter be used to plot on a soldermask as well? What type of
ink could harden to withstand the temperatures but also flow through a
normal HP plotter pen?

perhaps with silkscreen printing ? ;-)

3 other ideas that spring to mind:

Plotter (multicolor, slow)
toner transfer (black, maybe slightly conductive)
various "transfer sheets" like t-shirt transfer

PLEASE can we switch over to calling it component outline or component
legend.
a silkscreen printing is just that - anything printed with silkscreen.

May not be confusing for you native english speakers but it is certainly
for me.

thanks

I'm sorry i can not help you with the ink.
standard OHP pen won't work (you can solder directly on staedtler red).

amen!

no, its confusing to native english speakers as well. I prefer
legend since its not just outlines, names or values.
