Homebrew PCBs

Hi all,

in case you are interested, there is a Precise Cut unit on E-Bay 
without the driver electronics.


There is also a sample board they cut.  On the upper large pad, it is 
not completely round.  ditto for the lower pad.

Also, some of the square pads, the trace enters the pad a little too 
deeply.

Although it is not perfect, you can see it makes a very useable 
board.  As many of these will.

It also shows the need for the additional ring traces on pads as 
since that is where you solder, you need to be careful with a small 
isolation.

Maybe I'll do a similar board with my machine to show some of the 
features I like to use.

sure,  I searched on t-tech and they both came up, but here are some 
observations from me.



T-Tech unit looks complete, all the parts are included.
and it includes the software with the system.

definate bump in it.  Not enough to be a problem, but shows something 
is odd.  it might be in software as the smaller pads don't show the 
same thing to the same degree.

Ahhh. I had already seen the T-Tech one so I wasn't searching on it
again.

I'm not actually interested in buying it, but I amd collecting pictures
of CNC PCB machines, hopefully to give me ideas for the day that I build
one.

I think that the irregularity in the round pad is due to incorrect
backlash compensation or something similar. Circles seem to make this
really show up.

I agree.  it could be a lose bit, the router is loose or software and 
possibly hardware.

The second unit has a list price of over $6,000 but I would expect a 
sale price MUCH lower.

The unit without software and without drivers and without a spindle 
seems to be asking a bit much.

Hi Dave,

This is my machine that I listed on ebay. As far as comparison to T-
Tech- no comparison. T-tech, as well as lpkf don't have the z-axis, 
they only have a relay. You cannot do anything else but PCBs with T-
tech. There are many other benefits comparing to t-tech, too. Yes, 
it's true I don't include a controller nor software. While I made a 
controller for that machine and it works well, I used a xylotex and 
it has only 2.5A. I felt it was not right to include a 2.5A driver 
with such a fine machine. Like I said, depending on the skills, I 
would suggets either Gecko or buy a controller from Wes at 
PreciseCut. PreciseCut's machine is made using a CNC machine, 
consists of 100s of CNC components that compare more to a high 
quality custom. I intend to increase the prise next time I list it. 
Oh, buy the way, did I mention there is no reserve? And notice the 
price at the precisecut site.

It was an early software from www.deskcnc.com he since updated it. As 
far as your comment that $3000 i8s not worth it 'because of lack of 
controller and software.... Depending how you calculate it. I wish 
you could see the engineering they put into that machine, it is 
perfectly built. How much can a 4A controller cost? I built one for 
$200. Hey guys, I'll make an offer to you, tight now, anybody on this 
list qualifies for a free Xylotex based controller. rememebr, the 
machine is wired with all terminations, ready to be plugged in into 
the controller I am offering to our members or to a person who will 
purchase a controller from PreciseCut. Software? I used turboCNC to 
test the machine. What does it cost? $10?

Respectfully and wishing that nobody buys the machine this time, 
because next week it will be listed for $3500, hahahaha

One more thing, I forgot to add that a router will cost you $150 and
